Welcome to Leksands folkhögskola

We offer a variety of courses based on craftwork, form and design. Some of our courses give qualifications for further studies. All courses are conducted in Swedish. A good basic understanding of the language is necessary.

Study in a pleasant environment
The school is situated on the bank of lake Siljan in one of Dalarna´s most genuine and beautiful cultural surrondings. The view over the lake and the East Dala River is wonderful.

The student accomodation and the school buildings are gathered like a little village with the main building, including reception, theory classrooms and a dining hall, in the centre. We have a computer room to which students have access even outside teaching hours.

Accomodation
An important aspect of studying here is that students live and eat at the school ground which is good for well-being, social contacts and extra curricular activities.
We lodge up to 60 students on the campus. The rooms are very well equipped and the traditional style of the buildings gives the school a pleasant atmosphere.

Extra curricular activities
There are lots of possibilities to find spare time activities. A gymnastic-hall and a sauna are available on the campus. A 15 minutes walk takes you to the center of Leksand. Here you can find a cinema, pubs, discos, restaurants and a beautiful cultural center with a good library, as well as a sports centre with gym, indoor pool and ice Hockey rink. Ejendals arena, is Leksand Ice Hockey Club´s home arena and also an arena for conserts and other spectacular activities. Two skislopes are easily accessible by car and the surroundings provide good possibilities for rambling, cross-country skiing or jogging.
