Ceramic course in English
8-17 July 2012
Focus in this ceramic course will be to develop your artistic expression. You will use your own skills and be able to acquire new working techniques.
During the course you will have your own working table and throwing wheel in the work studio and you will have access to the work studio around the clock. Maximum 15 participants in this course. We are proud of our summer courses – our teachers and the spacious studios.

The environments
Leksand is famous for its strong tradition in folklore, folk music and its beautiful nature. Some people say that Dalarna is like Sweden in miniature. Leksand, with its surrounding communes around lake Siljan, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sweden.
In Leksand, there is room for you. This is a place where you can enjoy long walks with stunning views and fantastic Nordic light during the summer nights. There will be time for your own thoughts and soul. This is something beyond the ordinary. You will not regret it!
Accommodation
Leksand is just a three-hour trip by train through a beautiful landscape of open fields, lakes and forests from Stockholm and Arlanda Airport. You will find 6 to 8 daily connections directly from Arlanda Airport to Leksand station. The Leksand Folk High School is located by the lake Siljan in one of Dalarna’s most genuine and beautiful cultural surroundings. The view over the lake Siljan and the East Dala River is wonderful.
The accommodation and the school buildings are gathered like a small village with a main building, reception, theory classrooms and a dining hall. The rooms are very well equipped and the traditional style of the buildings gives the school a pleasant atmosphere (see above).
In a nearby building you will find workshops for the courses.
You are more than welcome to bring a friend or spouse who does not participate in the course. The cost for accommodation is 650 SEK (68 Euro) in a single room or 550 SEK (58 Euro) for part in a double room per night including meals.
